I got the 4.5mm which fits snuggly in my upper ear helix piercing fitting around the cusp of my ear without a noticeable gap while still having space for comfort. It's very secure with a subtle hinge. It was a little hard to put in but definitely worth it. I've been looking for an earring just like this for years and am so happy to have finally found one of such nice quality. Definitely recommend it and I personally plan on buying several more in time. It shipped and arrived very quickly. I am very happy with this purchase!
